Take care of the earth, take care of the people, and share the surplus.
Hi everyone, I would like to share a link to a very cool project I heard about and hope to be involved in this year. The goal is to help raise fresh vegetables locally for people in need in our local community.
The project is called GardenWorks.

Can you really harvest your own vegetables in winter?
YES, you can!
I can hardly believe it myself. I am currently harvesting swiss chard, cabbage, turnips and kale. It is so wonderful to have homegrown organic fresh greens to add to winter meals. Everyone who enjoys fresh homegrown vegetables should consider adding more cool weather crops to their garden! It is almost magical to lift the cold frame and see these beautiful GREEN
crops thriving in the dead of winter. I started growing these cold weather crops from seed in late summer so they were fairly mature before the weather turned colder and darker. |

COLD weather Crops! The Winter Harvest has begun!
Hey Everyone! I have had really good luck this year with winter VEGGIE CROPS in homemade cold frames.
Check out my photo of the cabbage I harvested.
I also took a shot of one of the cold frames. It is so fun to see things growing in winter. I have a big crop of swiss chard, turnips, parsnips, cabbage, herbs, lettuce, and kale!
I started these off in late summer and fall from seeds.
